That's a Bugeye bonnet, much better, not swollen.

This is not a spy shot of a 2004 STi, no. They have the same cosmetic treatment as this year's cars.

Bearing in mind the filename of this pic is "Impreza 2003", and that it clearly uses styling cues from the 2001/2 "Prodrive Style" cars, I'd suggest that this is someone's interpretation of what the MY03 cars might have looked like. Looks quite nice though. :)
