As I posted at half past seven in the morning I think I can be excused for not realising it was a Photoshop effort. ;)

Does look good, though. :)

Fatman 14 October 2003 01:08 PM

Nice, and only a shade over £300 (before tax, duty etc). I wonder what they'd charge for US->UK shipping?

rb5 286 14 October 2003 01:50 PM

:)

messiah 14 October 2003 03:46 PM

IMHO whether a carbon bonnet / scoop etc... improves the look of the car comes down to the colour that the rest of the car is in. Deep Blue, Black & Steel Blue (to name just 3) would look OK with a bit of carbon here or there. Silver on the otherhand doesnt.

...but thats just me.

M0NEY 14 October 2003 07:00 PM

Lol at Mark.

If you are thinking about a genuine though mark, me and si may start a group buy as loads of people are interested.

He has a great supplier and could work out £350 for cost of bonnet, carbon scoop and vents, inc vat and delivery into the uk! :D

He has already got one for himself and has had so many people email him that he is thinking about doing it. lol

He is just finding out from his guy in the US :D

Goldeneye 14 October 2003 07:15 PM

Group Buy = :D:D

minty 15 October 2003 10:20 AM

Group Buy mmmmmmmm :)

Fatman 15 October 2003 08:03 PM

You bastids... yeah, I might be tempted at that price! :D

Allan 16 October 2003 07:14 PM

£350 cool......:D, wonder what the weight saving over a steel bonnet would be.

M0NEY 16 October 2003 08:26 PM

lol! Didnt think that many would be interested. pmsl.

Its no guarantee guys but will see what i can do.

wonder what the weight saving over a steel bonnet would be.
Have you felt your steel bonnet?? The ally ones are ALOT lighter than the steel and the carbon are lighter than the ally.

So basically, the carbon will be a hell of a lot lighter!

Fatman 16 October 2003 08:36 PM

I was shocked at how much lighter the STI bonnets were (relative to my UK Turbo bonnet). Also, I've seen references on SN to TSL's carbon bonnets. Specifically, the fact that they're quite substantial - making them similar in weight to the alloy bonnets. Are these carbon bonnets not that thick?

Allan 17 October 2003 08:29 AM

So basically, the carbon will be a hell of a lot lighter!
Yes, I've always thought the steel one was flipping heavy, anybody actually know the weight ?

Allan

M0NEY 17 October 2003 08:45 AM

One carbon bonnet i found was 7.5kg i think.

TSL uses alot of carbon layers on the bonnet so i think thats why its heavier and is the same weight as the ally one.

The guy who has bought the bonnet who we are trying to get the group buy through, his bonnet is definitely lighter than the ally ones
