Hello
I'm (still interested in getting an X-Box, but have a question that I hope someone can answer: One of the reasons for buying one, is so that my daughter can play (DivX) movies. I know I can do this with a mod-chip (still don't know which one to buy though!) and some software. My question is can I make a menu? Or an autobooting CD? So that my daugher (3 years old) just moves the cursor and hits Play, a button, whatever? Thanks for your help. Steve. |
Hello
Thanks for the reply. I will have to go and buy one then! Steve. |
Hello Steve,
Yes. Its relatively straight froward. Once chipped, if you want to keep most of the HDD contents standard, you could put the divx files on the HDD and make a bootable CD of XBox Media Player. Then its just a case of navigating the menus (My Videos -> HDD -> Select Film). Alternatively if you are using a different dashboard you could run XBMP from there and play the films from CD-RW or DVD-R. http://aleron.dl.sourceforge.net/sou...reenshot02.jpg If you need any info just drop me a mail or pop along to www.xbox-scene.com and take a look at the tutorials. Xbox Media Centre will soon be a stable release and will make everything even easier :) Cheers, Dunk [Edited by DJ Dunk - 10/12/2003 4:00:14 PM] |
