Can you get hotmail to synchronise with pocket pc? Outlook works obviously but hotmail doesn't go into outlooks inbox, it has its own folder tree. Can it be forwarded to outlooks inbox or is it just not possible?

Any help much appreciated :)

I don't believe that HOTMAIL has a POP3 service, which basically means that you cannot download your emails from HOTMAIL into a standard email client.

I'm in the understanding that Outlook Express 6 now has functionality built into to get hotmail through HTTP, however OE doesn't sync with PocketPC :(

Hi

yeah but outlook 2003 now has http functionality built into it so u can get hotmail into it. Thats the point, the synchronisation functionality is there between the handheld and outlook and hotmail is sitting in outlook but not in the conventional inbox, but as hotmails own set of folders.

Doesnt seem to be any forwarding function/delivery rule that you can set fo rth hotmail folders to copy straight into the normal inbox of outlook :(

Any ideas?

Unfortunately I'm stuck with Outlook 2000, which cannot access HTTP mail servers, so probably not much help :(

However, couple of things,

When you sync, if you right click on inbox (in ActiveSync), you can add other email folders, I'm guessing the hotmail folders aren't there?

Can you drag a hotmail email into your inbox manually and have it sync? If so you can possibly do something to make it move these emails directly into here when they are downloaded, through scripting or using the junk mail/adult filters?

No unfortunately those folders arn't shown there. Can't apply any rules to hotmail even when its in outlook so looks like its not going to work at all. Will just have to manually drag and drop emails I want

Can't even forward my hotmail to another email address that is pop3 as no forwarding option in hotmail.
