The red crackle on my engine manifold is falling off in clumps on my MY99 STI Type-R. There are now patches where the metal is showing through.
Does anybody know where to get this paint from, or a heat resistant paint with a decent colour match? Cheers, Craig. |
Im afraid thats a standard feature Craig:D
Sorry i cant make a suggestion, bttt for you Gary:) |
Hi Gary,
You got your Type-R yet? Anybody else got any advice about the manifold? Craig. |
Im just waiting on Motormal to get the log book back from DVLA
which should be around the end of next week all being well, then i can pick it up either next weekend or begining of the following week:) Just a thought about your manifold paint, you could try asking the Suburu dealer at Ashburton as its the same as used on a P1 manifold! Only prob is, i would think it would be a head ache to do, as you'd need to take off the manifold and strip all the bits off for a pukka job. |
Yeah, its worth a try. I might try Haxbeys at Crownhill.

Thats the one, drove past there to day strangely enough,
its worth a try. Trouble is with it, its got a strange finish/texture, difficult to replicate with any old red paint i should think. Good luck with it anyway. Gary:) |
Yeah, totally agree about the finish. I'm just looking for a good colour match to take the eye away from the bare metal patches.
