I don't want to install a catch can that returns to admission so my question is to know if it's bad to vent the crankcase and the valve cover breathers directly to atm (using a small air filter to avoid dirt to come in) and to block the PCV valve.
PCV is good to made circulate fresh air in the crankcase but is it really needed???(I don't talk about emmissons here)
I know some of you have made it, any issues ?
BTW, my scoob is a MY01 (bugeyed)

You may experience the odd sniff of hot oil vapour if left vented to atmosphere, as the engine "breathes",it could also put a "haze" of oil over the engine and surrounds. I would preferably allow it to "re breathe" these fumes and simply let the engine burn it off,so it gives the engine something else to burn other than petrol. it also when fitted fully, maintains a certain pressure level in the crankcase,to aid in engine running and oil lubrication.
not trying to tell you want to do or not to, simply placing a few facts about the table.

not to mention poor running and fuel economy... its all linked into your ecu and emmisions.....

my old saab would die if you removed the oilfiller cap when it was running

would this then be a stealth scoob!!!! (smokescreen)
