OK then, a grands worth of Easyjet flights, the car club membership and a 3k MR2

Looking forward to a shot of the Merc they just got at the top of the page http://www.cccedinburgh.co.uk/Stables.asp#

Have been offered to sell my 944 S2 today. If only I knew what to replace it with. Have not seen a decent E30 M3 in ages so honestly I have no ideas for a replacement. Unless one of the honorable members of this forum comes up with a very good suggestion it will stay with me:)

Rough outlines are:

6K-ish
sports car look preferred
one and only car
will be driven in town mostly
classic car to be considered

davyboy 09 October 2003 06:25 PM

....and occasional trips to the ring!

Why do you want to sell it?

Dave

Ralf 09 October 2003 07:09 PM

I don't want to!

Just want to know if someone has a good idea.

mutant_matt 09 October 2003 08:02 PM

I presume £6k (not €6k) right Ralf? I doubt there is much better you could replace it with? Keep it? It looks like it's in good condition....

Matt :)

and

;)

workshy_fopp 09 October 2003 09:29 PM

If you're into classics, join the classic car club for 2 grand and then spend 4 grand on a car. MR2 maybe.

davyboy 09 October 2003 09:33 PM

......Ralf live in Germany.

Dave ;)

mutant_matt 10 October 2003 01:09 PM

Why would Ralf go to all that trouble for an MR2? He has a Porsche remember (and please don't come back with it's not a real Porsche! ;):p)

Matt :)

mutant_matt 10 October 2003 01:18 PM

Having said that, how about a 944 Turbo Ralf? ;):D

Matt :)

Bobby Peru 10 October 2003 01:39 PM

If you must, how about an unmolested e30 M3?

Edited vto say I shoud've read the initial post properly

Workshy_fopp -

I had a pagoda SL from the London CCC, very swish n cool in the summer.

Had the NSX yet?

workshy_fopp 10 October 2003 02:18 PM

Not yet, but a mate who's in the club took me for a spin in it when he had it, very nice indeed, great sound.
I need one of the low point cars for about 2 weeks, basically as a hire car, choices are P6 3.5 Rover, Porsche 928 or Morris Minor! Tough choice.........

Ralf 10 October 2003 07:13 PM

Matt, 6K Pounds I meant or 9K Euros.

A Turbo came to mind though...

evo magazin is not a fan of the MR2. A MKI as a trackday toy sounds good, except it's too weak for the Nürburgring and insurance is ridiculous high.

Any more suggestions?

davyboy 10 October 2003 07:18 PM

A turbo sounds good;)

Dave

Just sold my S2 & a 968CS is the logical progression if you like to do a bit of track action. £6k will only see you in a tatty LHD one tho up it a few £k tho an you can bag a LHD minter.

A nice 944 turbo may suit you also- get a nice SE 250bhp (easy 300bhp with a tweek) one for £6k

mutant_matt 16 October 2003 04:29 PM

But then, you know all this don't you Ralf!! ;):)
