Can anyone supply some advice on whether I should opt for PIAA or Scoobysport spots. Does anyone know the price difference? Also, if anyone has fitted either (which many have I'm sure), do they make a significant difference?

The two main alternatives from changing fog lights to driving lights are PIAA's from your local subaru dealer (approx £350) I think,or cibies from Scoobysport (approx£200). I personally went for the cibies, and I am sure lots of other people will agree with me in saying they are great, they turn night into day.
Hope this helps
This is a copy of a previous post also try a search on lights etc. should give you lots more info.

Colin,
I fitted a set of Cibies earlier this year and they are fantastic.I find myself going for a spin in the dark just to use them !Be careful though, when you have to dip them, things go rather dark again.
Fitting took about an hour and is really easy.
Go for it, you won't regret it.

Steve.

Having had Cibie SuperOscars on previous cars and thought them great, i decided to go the PIAA route for a change.

As far as i can tell there are much the same just the PIAA are a tad more expensive.

From a PIAA point of view, and i don't know if the Cibies are the same, they produce a pencil beam rather than a wider spread of light.

Great for use on windy A and B roads, but if you do lots of motorway driving make sure you keep the covers on as they are a tad expensive to replace if they get him by stones !!!!

The Cibies have a wider beam than the PIAA, but the trade off is that they have a shorter range.

Scoobysport also do clear plastic covers for the Cibies - PIAA don't.

Cibies are cheaper.
