fwd cars ranging from Saxos upto Mac F1s

Can anyone point me in the right direction to a site which shows such records????

I am after 4wd, but more so rwd and fwd records which arn't so common. Must be ROAD LEGAL sized tyres.

Also can some people give me examples of weight (kg), drivetrain type, KG and road surface type (eg tarmac or drag strip?) of some VERY VERY fast road legal cars, and what they've done over the 1/4mile with terminal speed in real life??

The reason for this is i'm adapting (yet again)some theory formulas of mine and want to test them. They are fairly acurate now with 4wd, rwd, fwd cars ranging from Saxos upto Mac F1s being narly spot on in most cases using just formulas, but these new modified cars are far quicker again and there isn't much info on them.

I've already used kieths 850bhp 1450kg 4wd skyline (totb2 fastest) doing exactly its 9.95 1/4mile at 153mph using a "formula", this was used as a test example, and I want to try loads of others. I've also put the project X Skyline into the formula and with an estimated 1400bhp and 1450kg it comes up with 9.14sec at 180.59mph on tarmac, and 8.74sec at 194.59mph on drag strip conditions, but how close or far out this is I don't know.

Anyone know what the weight of the Bugatti Veyron will be?

nisr227 07 October 2003 10:28 PM

So no one know any sites then?
To give you an idea, my theory formulas come up with the following examples:

The two end figures are a)1/4tarmac b)1/4dragstrip:

4WD:
305bhp Impreza WRX Sti PPP 305 1470 211 4.8 12.5 7.7 13.47@104.24 13.07@107.29
(i've quoted many "normal powered" standard cars before)

850bhp Skyline Kieth Cowie Skyline 850 1450 596 1.8 4.3 2.5 9.95@153.10 9.55@161.60
1400bhp Project X Skyline 1400 1450 981 1.5 2.8 1.3 9.14@180.59 8.74@194.59
800bhp Lancer Evo ND Evo7 808 1250 657 1.7 4.3 2.6 9.90@152.48 9.50@160.56
600bhp lowerboost Evo ND Evo7 600 1250 488 2.4 5.9 3.5 10.81@135.66 10.41@141.66
650bhp Escord Cossie Reyland 650 1150 574 2.3 5.5 3.3 10.61@139.38 10.21@145.88
987bhp Bugatti Veyron 4wd (weight guess) 987 1380 727 1.6 3.8 2.1 9.65@161.12 9.25@170.99
520bhp Porsche 996 Turbo RUF4wd 520 1549 341 3.2 7.5 4.3 11.64@125.12 11.24@130.32
600bhp Porsche 996 Turbo 4wd 600 1549 394 2.7 6.4 3.7 11.14@132.32 10.74@138.32
700bhp Porsche (996) Turbo 4wd 700 1549 459 2.3 5.4 3.1 10.62@140.71 10.22@147.71
450bhp Subaru Impreza Sti 22B 450 1270 360 3.2 7.9 4.8 11.73@122.23 11.33@126.73
600bhp Subaru Impreza Sti 22B 600 1270 480 2.4 6.0 3.5 10.83@135.45 10.43@141.45
800bhp MTM Audi Twin Engined TT 800 1490 546 1.9 4.6 2.6 10.10@149.73 9.70@157.73

I'm faily happy with these, but need some outragerous fwd and rwd cars to test against for those formulas, stuff like big corvettes etc?

You could try this website.

4wd ROAD LEGAL world record top ten (well i think more than jus top ten actually) is ALL Skyline GTRs.

Croydon Wholesalers R32 from NZ is new record holder with an 8.5sec@166mph

Veilsides R32 is in second place with and 8.61@172mph

And that goes on up to 10th place which is M's Factorys R32 which ran a 9.1@150mph

Also worth noting the same Veilside R32 did 0-187mph in 13seconds!

So the moral of this story is buy a skyline, second one is make sure its a R32 as the rest are big heavy barges, third one is actually dont as ive got one and dont want em getting to common!

So going by them records your terminal speeds seem a bit high mate on your calculations...

garygg 08 October 2003 12:14 PM

Not sure of the web-site with the details, but Keith Murray in his Sport Quattro set the fastest 1/4 mile etc times and it was independenlty reviewd by the authorities. He was on Sky or something recently and its appeared in several mags.

His website is www.dialynx.co.uk

His car went thru an MOT etc to ensure it was road legal, but haven personally seen the car, it must have been a close thing!

Nikko2 08 October 2003 03:41 PM

What would the theory on this car be.

Westfield Zei220

Weight = 670kg
Power = 330Bhp
Drive = RWD

Seen some old Figures that suggest 12.5@125mph

nisr227 08 October 2003 05:48 PM

nikko2 - just looking at that car, with 500bhp per ton, nearly the same as an R500 (shown for comparison) it should be quicker than what you quoted, here's the theory:
Westfield Zei 220 330bhp 330 670 500 3.2 7.9 4.6 11.52 @ 121.55
Caterham Super 7 R500 230 450 519 3.2 8.4 5.2 11.59 @ 117.85

Cheers for the info. My terminals speed seem to be OK for normal standard cars (not shown). Going by those records on highly tuned cars, my formula is set up for too much speed when it gets really really high, but having said that, Kieths 850bhp 1/4mile of 9.95 at "153mph" is spot on. I'll relook at the higher end of the formulas then ,assuming there can't be any more than 1500bhp from those record skylines.

Andy.F 08 October 2003 11:10 PM

Not far out from my cars totb runs :)

I'd be surprised if you find much difference between tarmac times and dragstrip times on 4wd cars with under 300bhp/tonne ?

Also you need to factor in the type of transmission. There are BIG differences between Auto, Synchro, Dog, Sequential dog and Race auto. You can get up to 10% spread in ET dependant on transmission type.

11.5 Wow!

What would she do with a weight loss plan. Say 50kgs and 100kgs.

Carl2 13 October 2003 05:58 PM

Some records here, don't know if it's any help.
