I have just called our Road Termainal Distribution manager and asked what details, if any, were available on "?" Ultimate.

So what I was told that due to certain formulae, marketing purposes etc, that he could not disclose the RON value of this new SUL fuel until the fuel is launched and the advertising campaign is rolled out on the UK forecourts and TV. It is NOT being put out of our terminal which supplies North England and all of Scotland as of yet. But silence on the ingredients so I cannot even offer any hints on RON value until they make it official via the forecourts & TV. :(

What I have found out its not a toal new fuel, but an additive enhanced SUL product.

Hope its 100 ron then I dont need an ECU remap for 98 as currently planned.

I hope it's much better than the std SUL cr@p they knock out just now. I've tried that stuff a few times and my knocklink lights up like Blackpool illuminations. And it's 2p per litre more expensive.

Poor effort from BP if it's just another 98 RON octane boosted UL :(

I don't believe the Optimax marketing hype, but it keeps my knocklink quiet as a mouse, so I'll stick with that until I see some proof of the BP stuff.

I wonder who will be the first to try it, really need someone with knocklink to let us know if its ay good. Last thing we need is any detonation with this "ultimate" fuel.
Any ideas as to how much BP plan on fleecing us for this

Shell is 98.8 and I use NF race.

Will keep my air-miles mounting up on my Optimax card.

I can't help but wonder at how these companies work.

I remember once upon a time SUL used to 98RON, then mysteriously the signs changes to SUL 97RON, with no reduction in price. Now we are paying more for a product that was the standard a few years ago. Makes ma pis£ boil.

I actually work for this company and now their market plans and standpoint....

...nearly on a soap box. Or maybe I got too used to 50mpg on that stinky oily stuff.
