Has anyone got some part worn rubber to fit the front wheels (standard 16s) of an MY99. I need two tyres of the same make with similar levels of wear. Cash waiting :)

Whats that? The make? Where about in Edinburgh do you live I could always pop round/over and have a look :)

Kenny,

I've got a full set of Bridgestone SO2's lying around in the garage.

Two of them are pretty much worn out but you're welcome to have a look at the other two. Should keep you legal for a while.

Mail me at the addy above if you want to pop round if you are in the area

Cheers

Andy

I'd appreciate it if you'd take a peek at the other two and report on their condition :)

blair 07 October 2003 10:34 AM

I'll have a look tonight.

I'm pretty sure the "good" pair have at least 4mm of tread across all of the tyre.

The "bad" pair have the same but only across about 2/3rds of the tyre.

They made for interesting handling going around those 90 degree corners East Lothian backroads seem to specialise in :D

Even without fuel surge :D :D

Thread Hijack!!!!!

I need tyres for track alloys. Prefer some rubber. Any flavour a part from real rubbish.

Mail me with what you have (Whatever you dont want kenny) ;)

Okay, I've had a quick look at the tyres and as I thought two have good tread (4-5mm) across the whole width of the tyre. Kenny, if you are interested in these drop me an email at the addy in my profile and we can sort something out.

The other two, whilst probably borderline legal, I wouldn't recommend putting on your scoob for the road. The tread is a bit shallower and the tyres are pretty much slick on the shoulders.

JVS - if you want these for your track alloys drop me a note.

I also have a selection of old kitchen units in my garage - any takers for them :D :D

Andy

LG John 08 October 2003 09:31 AM

Interested in the good ones blair - I'll email you when I get into work :)

LG John 08 October 2003 10:20 AM

You don't have an email in your addy blair! Drop me an email at kmacleod@eastlothian.gov.uk :)

blair 08 October 2003 10:39 AM

*rse ! I was sure there was one there.

YGM !

:D

JVSImpreza 09 October 2003 04:07 PM

Any tyres on the go then!!!!!??????

LG John 09 October 2003 04:23 PM

Blair's 'bad' two are probably not too bad for a track day - the shoulders are a little worn but otherwise fine. Also I believe dougster has tyres but they have a fair bit of tread left so wouldn't be a £10 for the lot jobbie.

blair 10 October 2003 09:18 AM

As Saxo Boy says I have two SO2's left in the garage, pretty worn on the shoulders but with enough tread to get you round knockhill a good few times (probably best in the dry though :D)

These any use to you ?

JVSImpreza 10 October 2003 09:43 AM

How much mate?

blair 10 October 2003 09:45 AM

£25 and they are yours

JVSImpreza 10 October 2003 09:45 AM

Are you ever near Loanhead?

blair 10 October 2003 09:54 AM

Can be. It's not that far away.

Either that or can meet up at the services off the A1 at Musselburgh - that must be about 1/2 way between us

Are you able to meet up tomorrow morning - around 9am would be best for me

JVSImpreza 10 October 2003 09:56 AM

I will be tied up then. When will you be in Edinburgh next?

blair 10 October 2003 10:04 AM

No plans to be in Edinburgh with the car for the next week or so.

Are you around in the evening during the week ? I could probably be at the Musselburgh services for about 7pm any night other than Wednesday

JVSImpreza 10 October 2003 10:11 AM

Mail me your number and i will call you when i have a mo.
