I popped into LOOKERS Honda Mapperley Plains in Nottm.. asked for a S2000 catalogue.

I like the look of the car..but don't know anything about it!

So I asked what they cost to start off with!..
the sales guy said 'about £27k'!!!!!!!

'BlUUdy Hell' i said... 'can get mi a all singin dancing WRX for that'

The sales man said back... 'Ah but these are better than a WRX'

In my head i was saying.. 'You wish!'

He follows on with....
'I've had Impreza drivers take these out and say how much better/Quicker it is than their car'

in his dream.. imho lol



Car looks nice.... but at the end of the day.. ... its a Honda!

Don't think I want to change to a S2000 now... I'd rarther have a 2/3year old low mileage STi RA Spec C WRX with 310bhp out the can for £18K... and have a load of cosh left to drive down to the Monaco GP/WRC.. holiday in Nice with mi car! lol

Been looking at possibly getting one next. However, they are expensive to buy and the insurance was more than my Scoob :(

Love the look of them though, shame they aren't about 7k cheaper :(

Probably feels faster due to being lower and open top, but the quoted 0-60 of 5.7ish for a NA engine sounds pretty fast :)

Obviously traction will be more of a problem due to being rear wheel and 240 odd bhp.

If they were a bit cheaper I'd get one :D

Another chalk n' cheese comparison.

One's a "pretty" 2-seater soft-top, designed for sweeping open road fun, in fine weather, while the other is a 4-seater, designed for the rally track, "in-yer-face" mad-cap all-weather B-road madness-mobile.

There's no comparison, because they're in different sectors of the market. Same as the Impreza vs TT, Impreza vs M3, Impreza vs whatever.

I've only been a member of this site for 6 months, and I'm already bored to death of the pointless comparisons.

Phil, if you have that sort of money to spend and are not sure, don't get one. If you did though and you didn't like it, I'd probably buy it off you cheap :D:p

One's a quick car that you can actually rag and get a lot of satisfaction and performance out of, while the other is just point and squirt. Good performance but not so much fun or a challenge. It seats a family in comfort though I'll grant you!

S2000 has no problem on tight corners too I think you'll find. Nice motor - For just driving fun I'd prefer the S2000. Maybe not so much on the practicality front though. As a second car definately.

With the UK climate I know which one I would prefer :D.

i raced an S2000 through the twistys in Leamington/Southam and he couldnt keep up.
I have a My00 with PPP.

So the former will be the Impreza, and the latter will be the S2000, after squirting, one tends to end up wrapped round a lamp-post.

Had consigned this thread to the bin, trying not to be baited, but let's face it, if you can't enjoy the performance of an Impreza, you aren't driving it properly.

As for the thrill of RWD; yes, it does kick out more often than an AWD car, but let's just observe the sideways ability of an Impreza, by the opening page of this site, shall we?

Like I said before, the S2000 isn't comparable (sp?) to the Impreza, because it's a different sort of car. And it's not that time of month now either, just fed up of the usual nonsense on this site... ;)
