True enough. If your focus is under the car though, there are much better things you could spend your money on. The only circumstances under which a diff guard would help you would be if you actually took the car in the woods (in which case sump and tank guards come much higher on the list of priorities).
Given the choice between a diff guard and some new shock absorbers, better brake pads, a set of good bushes, uprated rear ARB, or sundry other bits, I know what I'd choose. ;) [Edited by greasemonkey - 10/5/2003 7:52:29 PM] |
Has anyone got any ideas where I could obtain a rear diff protector, something pretty to look at when being followed, if it can be seen it must be trick.....
|
Say what? If your primary interest is posing, why don't you just lower the car enough so people following can't see your rear diff?
FWIW the diff guards available for rally use are just folded sheet aluminium boxes, normally with a couple of holes in the back so the drain plugs can be accessed without the need to remove the guard. They can't really be described as looking "trick" (is that the same as "phat"?), so there may be other things you'd prefer to waste your money on. |
my mate has a invo auto one which he was told is a copy of the sti version and its not a boxed in guard its just a thick plate that bolts underneath?

Thanks guy's, some usefull info there.
Grease monkey, I take your comments on board, but are we all not posers to a certain degree. If youve got it flaunt it, whats wrong with that. Guess just for you I will remove my furry dice & my neons & send them to you. |
Townend Garage sell them.

Grease monkey, I take your comments on board, but are we all not posers to a certain degree. In this instance though, I was simply suggesting that if you want your car to look "trick", a diff guard is not going to do it for you. These things are designed to do a job, not to look nice. It's not like they come anodised in pretty colours or something. If youve got it flaunt it, whats wrong with that. Guess just for you I will remove my furry dice & my neons & send them to you. |
Fair comment & no offence ment, but with a 328 BHP 94 RA, theres not much more to do to it. so I guess its now underneath that get's the attention. I too like to go by un-noticed, but in a Scubby you have no chance.
Cheers matey |
