HI GUYS (AND GALS),
HELP!, MY93 WRX had a bit of an unusual "tweetie bird" whistle appear. Performance had not dropped, so I thought, I`ll not worry, it`s at the Scooby dealer`s for a cambelt change next week, I`ll get them to have a look at it. Performance has now dropped rapid, and when coming "ON BOOST" the turbo spins up nice, showing boost on the guage, but it seems to have no effect on the engine power. A slight SHHZZZZZ wastegate sort of noise can be heard, though not too loud. Theres no major whistles, as if a pipe is split or anything, anybody got any ideas? It`s going to the garage on Monday, but it`s driv`in me crazy, (my poor baby.) Any advice greatly recieved. Thanx Proby. |
I had a similar(ish) sort of problem which I found to be a broken vacuum hose which had dried out and broken by the top of the turbo. You the bloke who writes for the car mag?

Cheers Dobbo!
I`ll inspect vacuum hoses, look for any cracks or splits. No, i`m not the guy who writes for m.power, but I look a bit like him, thats where the nick name comes from! Right I`m off into the garage, Cheers. |
Sounds like you should stop off at the plastic surgeon as well mate!
Let us know how things went, as the ease with which my hoses dried/cracked is unnerving and could be something for a specific post if it happens to several cars. Cheers. http://bbs.sidc.co.uk/wink.gif |
