You lot have probably had this before. Do I go for 17's or 18's? I drive enthusiasticly and don't want the handling to be spoilt or have my wheels rub against the car etc. I drive a MY99 UK Turbo with 16's on at the moment. Is 17's a nice compromise between looks and handling or are 18's that much better? Any body having ANY problems at ALL with 18's??? Cheers.

I spose i shall try to answer it then:D
TBH this is a piece of string question m8.
There are pro's and cons for both sizes.
Its been said that you wouldnt notice any downturn in handling unless you were mr McRae or Mr Sainz! the ride will be harder than on 17s and you will have to be more carefull when it comes to pot holes! On the other hand 18s look better.
However, i reckon that 17s can be an all round compromise!
So there you go, still not very conclusive is it!
If you do a search you will find many differing views on it.
At the end of the day, its down to personal preferance i reckon:)

I've just fitted a set of 18's and they look FANTASTIC. I would say there woz any difference at all in the ride on the originals.

BUT, when it comes to kerbing you learns the hard way, I have had 'em bout a month or so and they are now officialy all kerbed It just don't matter how careful you think you are, you still seem to invent new and bemusing ways of kerbing the little fookers, then there's the tears, the snot, the hitting of the head ...

Plus looking at the bill, I fink I'm gonna have to remortgage when it comes to changing the tyres :(

Still, if I had to chose again, I'd still go wiv the 18's, I'd just make sure I'd made notes of all the times I'd kerbed them so's I wouldn't do it again :)

By the way, on the handling side I don't find them as good as me ole 16's, though the truth of the matter is that I actually have tread now, whereas, before, all 4 tyres woz a touch on the shiny side :D
