I've been contemplating a second set of alloys so that I can keep one for set for track days, and one set for the road. In my efforts to find suitable tyres most of the companies I have spoken to have been trying to promote a new Toyo Tyre, the Proxes T1-S.
Has anyone any experience of using Toyo tyres on a Scoob ? Or even this new one?

Also I've heard of a new Yokohama tyre, the AVS Sport, based on a Track Wet tyre but suitable for the road. Anyone come accross this one? Or Know if it can be bought in a 205x50x16 fitment?

Tim, I've just bought new 17" wheels with 215/40/17 Toyo Proxe T1's and think that they are great value for money. I've tried most other 'Brand' tyres and these are up there with the best. A good all round performer these.
I like the deal that if you damage the tyre beyond repair, you only get charged for the amount of tread used. Did you know about that?

When i bought my 95MY WRX last July it was fitted with brand new Toyo T1 plus tyres.
Since then I have covered 18000 miles and i replaced the front tyres last week.
They had just another 1000 or so miles to go before they would have been flush with the wear indicators.
The rears still have half their tread left.
Both the wet and dry grip are awesome and did not seem to suffer over the life of the tyres.
The tyres wore perfectly evenly and i had no hesitation in putting Toyos on the front as the new replacements.
My wheels are 16" and are fitted with 205/50 ZR 16 tyres.
For price/performance/wear i would highly recommend them.
