I have a problem with my MY98.Since i have this car i have problem with full power.
When drive in 2.gear with about 3000rpm and you give quick full throttle in the first second the car whants to accelerate with full power about 0,5 seconds later the car accelerate only with half power or less then. When you give slowly full throttle the car accelerate normaly. Can somebody give me please an answer for this suffer ? I have already the modified solenoid valve (three pipes) !
But this defect does not always occurs.
Thanks

This may be caused by dirt in the Turbo Waste-gate Control Valve. This valve can be removed and cleaned in about 10 minutes by someone who knows what they are doing. I had this problem before with similar symptoms...however when the car lost power it was a sudden and violent loss...as if someone had cut the engine and then turned it back on again. Anyway...just letting you know in case that's it.

My 98 WRX does the same kind of thing, but it is only really noticeable in 5th from 3k to 4k. Is it an overfuelling problem do you think?!
