Not really that technical but it's defeating me.

I've got a cracked off-side tail-light cover- glass/plastic (the red section). I feel it should be within my meagre capabilities to take it off
and fit a new one but I can't figure out how to get the cracked one off (I've not got the new one yet but wanted in the meantime to clear out the shards and tape
over).

Its a 5dr 94M turbo. Taking off the access panel for the rear lights I undid the four nuts/bolts but this doesn't seem to free anything. Before I end up dismantling the car
what am I missing!

What's a new one going to cost.

While I'm on... the battery appears to be on it's last legs (the radio ran it dry over a 3hr spell). Halfords quoted 90 quid is this the norm?

Cheers
Mike

The tail lenses are held on with 5 nuts.On the nearside if you remove the tool /jack cover & put your hand around behind the cover you can feel the 5th.I would think it is the same on the offside but as for access ....I think the lenses are also secured with some form of mastic sealant to prevent water penetration from drips down the tailgate etc.

P.S. you are not looking for a genuine doguard or selling a roofrack by any chance?

New lens costs over 130 UKP. I think the tape
will stay on for a while!

I found the 5th bolt on the near side but
the problem is on the off-side so the hunt continues. Given the cost there's less of an urgency now.

ps Sorry haven't got a dog so no need of the guard and we don't yet have a roof-rack
