I've been using sonicwall firewalls over high speed corporate connections, but a friend wants me to hook up his head office with 3 remote offices. I recon a pro-100 with a handful of soho3's will do the job.

My question is - never having seen ADSL conenctions - how would one hook up the sonicwalls.

Can I get ADSL routers with a simple ethernet presentation ??

Sure you can.

Yep dead easy

Maker sure every ADSL has ethernet router on it is Non NAT presentation i.e external IP address on the ethernet interface.

I would say for a set up that size the Pro 100 might be slight overkill at the main office but depends on the number of users...

I've used it & it works spot on :D

But I guess you'd know that Willie ;)

SOHO3 25V or Pro 100 paired with an Alcatel SpeedTouch 510 v4 is a tried and tested combination for me. Have people using it for VPN day-in, day-out.

Set the ST510 in a no-NAT configuration and add the fixed IP address of the SonicWall's public interface to the routing table.

Let me know if you want a config file for the ST510.

Chris.

 - I've also found some d-link products that do the same for about 15% of the cost - just not happy about d-links reliability etc or are they actually any good.

I think the sonicwall tele3 with the modem backups also sound good.
