Sorry for the thicko question! I'm here from the dark side (Supra forum!).
A friend has recently brought a 97 UK scooby (not sure exact model). He's just put a full stainless pipe on it and removed both cats. We stuck my spare Blitz boost guage on it and it was hiting spot on 0.9 bar, peaked at about 1bar before it settled. this was in all gears even 5th with foot flat to the floor. What boost can they run 'safely'.? Is the fueling there to cope with higher boost and what does the ECU's map go upto? Cheers |
I wouldnt go above 17/18psi - dont know what that is on the bar scale
|
About 1.2bar. Sounds about right to me, thats simelar to the j-spec supra without any fueling mods.
Thanks. |
Thats fine :) It could probably run a little more safely.

Are the actuators on the scooby turbo adjustable, or do you tend to stick a bleed valve on there (pure cowboy style) to up the boost?
|
Dont forget to add a fuel cut defender otherwise you'll get a sore head (hitting windscreen) when the ECU shuts off the fuel to the engine.
Cant remember what the boost threshold is on a MY97, around 13PSI? Dawes do a mechanical one (and cheap boost controller, better than a bleed valve) Rich |
I think the actuator is adjustable as well but a dawes is defo the best way to adjust the boost
|
Fuel cut is at 1.2bar.....
|
Cheers guys, thanks for the info.
|
Fuel cut is definitely not 1.2 bar on a UK MY97.
My UK97 was hitting it around 13PSI, needed a fuel cut defender to reach the 1.2 bar I am currently running (~ 18PSI). The later models are a bit higher but I think still below 18PSI. Rich |
