I have a centre de-cat none resonated pipe (or pipes) for MY02. Do i have to swap over the heatshields from the standard Subaru resonated centre to the "straight through" system and can i use the gaskets off the standard pipe also.

Cheers

Pete

If you're lucky the gaskets can be used again, and I think you'll find that the heatsheild are there mainly to keep the cat warm, not protect the car, so forget about swapping them over, airflow should be enough to keep the car cool!!!

the heatsheilds were only there to protect the cat from igniting grass for example if you had parked on a field or grassy car park.
So being as the new pipe section does not have a cat, it is not going to get so hot now, although some pipes do have the brackets to enable you to fit "said items".
Keep em on original pipe, if it needs to go back on at sme time..
