Folks plz help with this topic, A mate of mine has a S3 (1999) 210bhp, and claims that it would 'leave me for dead' in a race; I don't really wanna race him, you know the usual issues etc, BUT the guy is getting on my nerves abit.

Has any one been up against a 210 s3? also what would be the outcome against an ATR...any one, any ideas???

Have had both, would say the Accord is slightly quicker but due to the S3's better torque, if he caught you off guard you would have some work to do. ATR is a much better drive.

Traded my ATR in for the S3 and thought that the front tyres were flat and the brakes were f*cked (seriously!), a few mods later and the S3 was a cracker though.

Never driven an S3 but dabbled with a few, 210bhp 270Nm vs 209 and 215Nm, 4 wheel vs 2 wheel drive, one can corner the other well sort of. Leave you for dead, nah I don't think so

Mods will invallidate the Audi UK warranty, period. What I found was that because my car was purchased from Dane Audi as a used vehicle, my warranty was an approved used warranty, supplied by the dealer.
This proved to be a far more comrehensive warranty and, still covered the carwhilst modded, this may vary from dealer to dealer, so best to phone around.
When I asked Dane's service dept why this was so, the said that over 60% of S3's they sold came back moddified for thier services and never had any mechanical probs as a result of the mods, so they were more flexible with the warranties.
Make no mistake, Audi mechannicals are Bombproof.
Mods I had where Coilovers, MTM upgrade chip, Magnex exhaust, 18's, Forge DV. Car put out 270bhp - 300lbs/ft.
