Any one got any idea how much it costs to carpet a "largeish" 4 bedroom house with a good quality carpet/underlay.
Have absolutely no idea and would like to get a rough idea before going and enquiring about it with one of the stores (if I get someone round for a quote the g/f will get all excited and if it's too much £££ I'll have my balls knawled......painfully for not being able to do it!!!) She'll throw the "if you'd not spent all your £££ on PPP" comment at me! |
Have you seen the adverts on the telly? - come back to carpet :D
That is one industry that got fooked by all these damn DIY programs and their cheapo laminate floors :( |
I carpeted a 3 bed semi, normal family house. Everyroom, apart from kitchen for 1300 quid incl. underlay and fitting. It was cheap cream carpet and Ok underlay. Its a rental house and 2yrs on, carpet is still fine.
I've also carpeted my new house, 2100sqft 4 bed detached excelant underlay, really good quality carpet, and it was a shade under 11grand. As always you gets what you pays for. HTH. S_T |
11K
Look like she'll be waiting a little longer! Just ordered some 19" alloys and a full coilover kit for my other motor! Wonder if she'll notice!!! lol |
I did get a bit carried away though! and I said a shade under 11k! :)
But you should be able to get a decent enough carpet done for 2k all in, less if you have a mate who can fit it for you... Good Luck. S_T |
£2k should do you. They say that if money is tight spend as much as you can on the underlay. Apparently a cheap carpet feels better and lasts longer on a good underlay than vice versa.

Was thinking about 5-6K so by the sounds of it I should be able to kit it out pretty nicely.
Cheers for all the replies. |
