Hi All,
Don't usually get excited about printers but just got the Canon i9100 printer for printing off shots with my new digital camera. Very very good doesn't even come close. If you want to print A3 (borderless), then this is the printer to get. Quality is just excellent and puts my monitor to shame. I like it. (Did you guess ?). Cheers Ian |
Marvellous - I'm looking for a new printer :D
Do they do just an A4 version with the same print quality? Ta, Nick. |
Nick,
Yep, the Canon i950 is its A4 equivelent as far as I can tell from the specs. I've seen sample output from the i950 and I reckon it is the same (if not very, very, very slightly better) as the i9100. Love the driver software as well. No messing about guessing what the best settings are (like with Epsons), I just take the default "Best" quality and get cracking output. Cheers Ian |
cheers Ian, I will have a look at those :D

PC World actually stock the i950 so go in there and to take a look. Get them to set it up and print some sample shots for you. If you like it then go and order it from Dabs etc. ;)
Cheers Ian |
The Canon i850 is also very good. (it's the 4 colour version of the i950 which uses 6 colours). However, the quality is near as dammit as good and it should be a little cheaper to run.
Borderless A4's can look stunning (better than some online labs) BUT (and it's a but of J-Lo dimensions) you might suffer from the 'gas-fading' that is common with these printers unless you frame your prints either behind glass or keep them in plastic wallets etc. A wee bit of a bummer really because sometimes you want to give prints to friends but you have to tell them that they might fade unless they frame them etc. I love mine though. Ilford Classic Pearl paper is also great ( try www.7dayshop.co.uk ) |
Just ordered my i9100
