Last week while browsing through the Gaming Memory section on Ebuyer. I noticed what I was sure was a typo, Corsair TwinX 1024MB XMS4000 DDR 500 Memory, matched pair £120+VAT

Checked the part codes and these were indeed the twin 512mb kits, actual retail price between £310 and £340 each kit!!!

Well, they had 2 kits left in stock, so suffice to say I nabbed them. £288 all in, for 2gb of DDR500 RAM Beats forking out close to £700 for the 2 really :p

Got them yesterday, all 4 went in perfectly, currently running at DDR486 (243mhz) in dual channel mode, 2.55V.

A touch under 23k 3dmarks now and 5850MB/S Ram bandwidth on Sandra.

I have no idea what I am gonna do with that much ram, but that was too good a cock up to miss out on!

Cheers,

Nick

Jammy git :D

And you didn't choose to tell us first . . . . ;) :p

Well spotted :)

PS. Got any DDR400 spare ?

I would and might, but the 1gb of TwinMOS (Winbond CH-5) PC3200 that I removed is prob going into my other half's watercooled P4C800 rig. She surely will notice the performance increase running dual channel when playing solitaire ;)

I have a gig of Crucial PC3200 that is about a week old that I might be parting with. 2 512MB sticks.

Cheers,

Nick :)
