I have owned an wrx sti 2 door import for 6 months, it has had engine and exhaust upgrades, and it goes like stink !! but im not happy with the standard wheel/tyre set up (16in with potenza 205/50r16 tyres ) in wet conditions the back end is quick to let go on tight corners, ive experimented with the diff lock settings and it makes a difference, but i need a better tyre and may be 17in wheels ? any ideas /

I fitted a set of Raceline RL7 18" with P Zero 225/35 ZR 18 tyres on my Type R. I can safely say that it handles a little better than my old 16" used to. Cornering is much more stable than it was and even in the wet you know when it going to step out, It is quite predictable and easy to correct.
Wheel and tyre choice are down personal preference. For me you cannot beat P Zero.

Try Bridgestone SO2 tyres they are raved about in several other Bulletin Board postings. I swapped my tyres for them and they are better in the wet and in the dry than the standard Bridgestones

It's hard to improve a great deal with a new set of wheels.

As Peter says: Go try some SO2's and feel the difference.

Standard import bridgestone potenza tyres suck.

A good combination would be the 7x17 prodrive wheel with 215/40/17 (SO2's)
