Mike, where did you get the 'shift' from? How long have you had it for now? Did you fit it your self?

Has any one fitted a quick shirf to a '93 WRX. Another poster has been told that they wear the 'switch fabric' at a much much faster rate and that a new box would be iminent. Is there any more info on this, and does anyone know of one that will be OK with this model.
Phone ProDive, and even with the fact that I am not Uk based they still were not willing to offer any help at all. Not even off the record advice. TA. |
I have recently fitted a quickshift to my MY93 WRX, It is badly named really, I think it ought to be called the short shift.
It reduces the amount of travel required to select gears, if you are hell bent on changing gear faster this will help with the likely result that you will defeat the syncho mechanism, of the gearbox. Damage is unlikely to be immediate if this approach is taken you would see a gradual worsening or crunching gears over a period of time. I like the "short shift", feels more precise and requires less effort. |
Local Subaru main dealer, 1 week, Yes.

Demon Tweeks now do one for £45. As you rightly say it just shortens the stick giving less movement to change gears.
|
I've always found demon tweeks to be well expensive - if you can find out who makes it you could save a few quid.

Why do I always find out about these cheap options after I have spent my money, I fitted a genuine Prodrive quick shift, just shy of £200.00
