Am still suffering fuel starvation problem when exiting sharp corners, particularly rounabouts. Can anyone help with the following questions ?

1). What are the fuel line pressures for an STi 4 ? Same as UK ?
2). Is the height of the fuel intake in the tank adjustable ?
3). What is the purpose of what appears to be a breather valve on the tank ? This is not present on UK spec. cars.

STEVE
the fuel pressure should be 41-46 psi at idle.
height of fuel intake do you me where the engine gets its fuel from,if so the tank unit under the rear seat has a filter at the bottom and the height is not adjustable.
i suspect
| || || || || || || || || || || ? the fuel tank has two chambers and is provided with a suction pump which transfers fuel from one chamber to another,if this is faulty it would cause the problem.
let me know how you get on peter

Yesterday I turned right on a roundabout in a 4-dr STi V5 and went to overtake a slow moving vehicle 5 or 10 seconds after exiting the roundabout. At approx 3000 rpm in 3rd gear I depressed the accelerator expecting to get good boost and the engine more or less died on me, though it had been ok since the slow exit from the roundabout.

I changed down and everything seemed to sort itself out. I'd just filled up with Tesco premium unleaded incidentally.

Does this compare with what you're experiencing at all?

Brendan.

Problem occurs after passing apex of turn, a second or so after the throttle is depressed. Problem starts at about 1/2 tank of fuel and gets progressively worse as level decreases. The effect can be generated at will.

I too have had similar problems with my 4-door STi V.
This has been on right-hand bends, esp. roundabouts, however I only seem to get the problem when the tank is registering 1/4 full, or lower.
Maybe I'm not driving fast enough to get a problem with more fuel in the tank?!! - But I doubt it!!
