had a nice parcel waiting for me when i got up this morning, forge blow off dump valve, only thing is there was no instructions on how to fit it. ive only had the impreza a couple of weeks so not sure how it fits? is there any guides online or could someone tell me how to fit it, at the moment there is a Forge ReCirc DumpValve fitted to the car so is it a simple case of switching them over?

What model do you have and year ?
Did you get a fitting kit with it as well ?

93 wrx, it was in a small box, some blue piping etc, so not sure if this is fitting kit or not?

The contents of the package should be:

Dump Valve
Alloy blanking bung
Small alloy pipe (maybe straight or angled)
3 to 5 inch samco style hose
8 to 10 inch samco style thin tubing
5 or 7 jubilee clips

If you got all these then this is the complete DV fitting kit.
Its very simple to fit.
Confirm that you have all these bits and then i will talk you through fitting.

used the below guide to fit the dump valve, when i drive i got the whoosh sound but sometimes the sound seems to to a little muffled like its not 100% clear is this correct? im new to all this engine stuff so forgive if i sound a little stupid. I would like to check that i have fitted the dump valve correctly.

im in roche cornwall, near st.austell ;) could it be possible that the car is over boosting?

Are you selling ur forge recirculating dump valve ??

I may be interested if u are. Drop me a mail.

Sorry, I didnt get back to you in time.

The guide you followed is very good and I would have just told you the same thing.

You say that the sound doesn't sound right. Is the car hesitant under full boost or does it idle irregularly ?

it seems to be ticking over fine, but when u drive it, it feels like its not as quick and then at high revs it cuts out :(

I had the same problem when i fitted my forge DV. I swapped it for a Bailey EVO piston type DV and this cured the problem.

Did you tell the shop it was for a Scooby as I am right in assuming that they come with a stonger spring for the scooby.

Was the car OK before you added the DV ?

I would suggest trying to swap with another DV of the same type to try out. See if there are any other Scoobynetters close to you, who you might be able to help out.

will do, i got a forge re-circ dump valve and it ran fine with that one in. ill try tunning the boost down on the boost controller and see if that makes any difference.
