For those of you who have changed the downpipe exhaust yourselves -where did you get your gaskets from? I have a TSL Motorsport ones, and I don;t know if a stock Subaru ones fit OK.
Also, what is it made out of? Wondering if I can reuse my existing one, only if it's copper. Thanks |
All specialists can source gaskets for the downpipe, some are reuseable......though it does depend on condition. Many companies prefer to use new, then there will definately not be any blowing.....

15 quid for a gasket? They must be on drugs! I've never paid anything above 3 quid for one. Anyone recommend anywhere else?

I paid £10 odd from a dealer (that was with the SIDC 10% discount), I tried to get one from Mainland yesterday but they had non in stock and could not order one due to them closing on Friday:( so I just ordered one from GG £15 aint that bad delivered.

i bought a set form the dealer when i changed my downpipe...
Downpipe-turbo was about £35 Downpipe-mid section was about £10 |
Down pipe to turbo £12 inc vat Mainland
Down pipe to centre CES in chester £4.25 for o ring type the same size as subaru gasket fits on car fine, big difference to mainland that wanted £22 inc vat. Mark |
I changed my DP today, I reused the gasket on the turbo end - seemed fine to me. I also added some of that 'liquid' gasket stuff to get a good seal...
However, I was ready to get new gasket if it was shagged - £1.50 from local garage. |
