...My dad ran up one of the mountains!!!! (dozy bugger!) so i took him down then drove on to the meeting point. Saw quite a few scoobs, hi if i saw u!!!!.Was a good drive only took me 1 1/2hrs from York which i thought was pretty good! Really good roads and the scoob was flawless there and back! Only downside was i couldnt find a shell garage on the way back and had to make do with bp!!

ScoobyRS 21 September 2003 09:19 PM

cant you add that octane booster to the fuel if you cant find a shell?

16vmarc 21 September 2003 09:27 PM

alanbell 21 September 2003 09:35 PM

 • Crooklands Shell: Junction 36 of M6 - Instead of going South onto the Motorway, head towards Skipton direction (asuming you have come from Kendal direction ;) ) and turn left at first roundabout - follow road to Shell
 • Kendal Shell: South end of town, near the Sports Centre and on the way to Asda - Yorkshire side of the river ;)
 • Windermere Shell: Turn off Kendal road by the Booths/Railway station and follow one way street down - it's inthe middle of town :)

Plenty more in Barrow, Ulverston, etc if you know where to look :D:D

16vmarc 21 September 2003 10:21 PM

Ill bear that in mind! but i went to Grasmere and Keswick!!!!

Golden Oldie 21 September 2003 10:23 PM

I also drove to the lakes a few weeks back :), but have a question?, those weird looking camera's that say (Imaging camera)on the M6 what is the exact purpose of it. traffic maybe?, (As I had no warnings or alarm bells pop up to indicate that they were any type of speed camera on my GPS speedcam system.

praying !!

Maddy

Golden Oldie 22 September 2003 11:44 AM

I believe they are just for monitoring traffic (CCTV) as there can be a lot of crashes with impatient drivers getting frustrated at all them damn caravans and stupidly big coaches

:)

16vmarc 22 September 2003 12:07 PM

I do believe there arent any cameras around that area.

Their are alot of cameras/sensors for traffic master and the general traffic monitoring cameras, they have been up for quite a few years and I have been past them many times at *** mph :)

Don't worry.

Did notice two Gatso's on the A6 in Manchester that did not come up on my S6 GPS though.

austen_wrx 22 September 2003 02:54 PM

Count yourself lucky, he drove a bit further :D

Chris_p 22 September 2003 04:02 PM

lovely part of the country.

btw cockermouth is a good 10-15 miles awy from keswick

Maddy 22 September 2003 04:11 PM

heh looks like he's flooded his engine :D

Thanks for the camera update it's put my mind at rest (was dreading the postman each morning), although reasently there seems to be a significant increase on mobile hand held units especially in Yorkshire. At the weekend I passed 3 new sites and noticed a new one today, maybe there blitzing the area or something, GRRR!
