Well guys, going to have a look at a WRX STi V6 RA LTD tomorrow, if its good I'm gonna get it. The thing is I still have a beauty of a car, I would really like to keep her. I am seriously caught up inbetween these beautiful cars and don't know what to do. My brother has just bought a V5 RA LTD and I like it so much. TBH, if he hadn't of bought the car I would of had it for myself. I love both cars but don't know which one to get rid of :(
The P1 is the dogs but so is the V6 RA Ltd.... Help ! Regards Kev Please help ! |
Only you can answer that one.
Do a list of pro's and cons. <<<<<<<< Myself, well you can guess. :D |
Down to personal choice really.
I know which one i would choose...:D |
Whats your choice then...?
|
STi for me...:D
|
P1 Pros :
Excellent car Good looking Warranty issues UK car Has street cred Handling/performance amazing Full history P1 coms : Expensive to buy Sti pros : Excellent car Good looking Has street cred Handling/performance amazing dccd i/c spray Sti cons : No warranty parts hard to source insurance expensive Not full history, could be clocked Kev |
A dilema yes.......but what a nice dilema to have :D:D:D
|
Tell me about it Chris, if it were 2 women then it would be easy KEEP BOTH :) But these bitches are too expensive and one of them has to go.
Regards Kev |
When i first went in the P1 i thought WOW - grip/style/power/ and stares from general public...over time have seen the warranty restrictions you P1 drivers are under..and the "What if" comes into view - what if i change this it will affect my warranty etc,etc..In the P1 the longer you have it the more "used" to the power you get and the more you want that "WoW" factor...
Now..got into the RA and went "Fu***** Hell" after the RA feels much quicker and handles like a dream DCCD(without question the bo selecta)... It looks almost the same in nimbus blue. For me the RA takes it hands down. Insurance for you will be £900 fully comp - parts can be sourced easily m8 if you call the right people. Cred is the same for both cars both are limited and your going to get your money back without doubt on this car - as like all the others you keep them all mint.. Now dont get me wrong the P1 is a very nice but after being in the RA there is only 1 car i would take..The RA P.S remember your going to track use the car 2 or 3 times a year and i could not see you taking your P1 on the track as you look after it like a baby.. You Already made your dsecision already really but you just dont want to sell the P1 - your tied to that car mentally - LOL 12hrs to go and counting |
Clue, you cant read sod all of the writing in the handbook:D
That would be my choice:cool: Personaly of course. |
Sti cons :
No warranty: You can buy aftermarket waranties if its from a dealer, P1 is now out of waranty unless extended, which is an aftermarket waranty. parts hard to source: i Can get parts faster than a UK dealer in a lot of cases at a lower cost. insurance expensive: depends on the broker, but the diference isnt huge Not full history, could be clocked : So could a P1, my own STi5 TypeRA Limited was imported brand new to the UK with zero miles and has full history. |
Sti all day long. I want it back Kane, just had a 120 mile drive in the nissan :(
I choose the sti over the P1 as it was a few grand cheaper, more exclusive, The blue front seats just set the car off soooo well. Plus the adjustable diff, not that I got to play with it. Have both and sod it... Saving for a porker now, Carrera RS |
hi AV,
Tested the diff and its a bute m8, makes a big difference on roundabouts/corners/ - not tested on launches but actually found this video page on 555 website. The video in question is a test of a White Scooby v MR2 Turbo. If you look the guy launches on Diff Lock(L) then switches up to diff free when rolling(60/40) I've not tried a launch with it as not had a car that requires that much attension yet...Boxter S only needed 2nd/3rd gear..lol Hope you get your porker soon as i can feel your missing the car still m8..:-) Tell us how the RS goes m8.... Kevs RA choice over in 5hrs...the RA brothers hitting an A road near you soon me thinks..:-) http://www.555club.com/vidpage.htm |
If it was down to me, I would pick the STI. :D
|
yawn yawn yawn
this has been done to death soooo many times - the answer (after the owners of the various types say how great theirs is, blah blah), is it's down to personal choice. Amusingly, noone's mentioned ABS yet, have they? :) Gordo |
you can only decide yourself mate...
|
Check my P1 out on for sale section, 45k miles, 16,995 quid wanted. Big brakes and the car is in excellent knick.

Lets clear up the warrantly issue again.
I have an STI5 TypeR with a FULL warranty. It is to the same spec as the Subaru warranty. Everything I can claim for is fully documented so there is no misunderstandings http://www.aisimports.co.uk/warranty.php |
