Can anyone tell me What is the difference in the offsets of the following standard Impreza alloy wheels and what effects changing them may have. I have a March 97 Model Year Sport 5 door
Wheels:- 97 MY Sport 15" 5 spoke
97 MY Turbo 15" 5 spoke
98 MY Turbo 16" 5 Spoke
Also are the Bridgestone RE 010 tyres as fitted to 98 MY Turbos any better in wet and dry than the RE 71 that werefitted on 15" rims to 97 MY Turbos.

I am looking for the best combination for a 97 MY sport

I'm not sure what the offset of the Sport 15 inch alloys are, but I would imagine they are the same as on the turbo (The Catalunya limited edition had gold versions of the same alloys).

That being the case, your best option would probably be to fit a set of 16 inch alloys from the 98MY Turbos (or 16 inch Speedlines), with a set of 205/50 x 16 tyres on them. Bridgestone S-02 Pole Position tyres are the current favourite amongst Impreza owners, as they offer amazing levels of wet weather grip. The OEM RE-010s are very similar to the RE-71s (ie not very great wet weather performance!!!)

Thanks for that but Russell W has had problems associated with these wheels fitted to an earlier model year, allegedly because of the offset being different to those on the 15" wheels hence my question
