WAs it you??

R*** *AA in a red wagon, gold speedlines on the A45 Northampton ring road 12.30pm ish.
You passed me trying to pull out onto dual carriageway, I waved and you waved back! Caught you up and followed you up to Brackmills exit, where I pulled off. Nice sounding exhaust, especially when booting it into the outside lane coming off slip road near Brackmills!!

I thought it was perhaps you, I've seen pictures of your car before and I thought I saw a St. Andrews cross on the front? Know what you mean about waves, don't get many up here either!

Seamus 08 October 2001 10:16 AM

Absolutely!

I'll keep my eyes (and ears!) open. Which I guess is useful if you're driving.

Welcome to the area mate - you'll have fun. Just keep an eye out for the mobile (and static )camera units that proliferate our lovely county - especially on the bridge by Brackmills.

Cheers
Kav

Not me, mine is on an X plate, right kind of time for me to be about though.

Someone in a P1 passed me last week and waved, so hello to you if you're out there!

Pub sounds like a plan!

Did someone mention a pub??....lol
Now we're talking..all the other meets are bloody miles away..would be nice to have a more local venue that doesnt involve another trip to the Optimax garage just to get there...are you all actually in and around Northampton or scattered rurally?...she says edging for pubs close to HER...tsk... typical woman, give me more time to do me hair....lol
ps...still havent had a wave!!!

Neanderthal 09 October 2001 05:34 PM

Oh look, I arrive just a pub meet is mentioned http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I drive a Silver MY97, reg - P555...

I wave to every Scooby Turbo, so far I've only had 2 waves back http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif one from a blue MY00 (see him quite a lot near Moulton) and the other was a Silver MY98 (in Kingsthorpe).

Praps aught to swop the thread over to General and guage some interest?

Neanderthal 09 October 2001 06:35 PM

Who's got a favourite pub then?

There's the Navigation a Stoke Bruerne (although I believe they have a few piggy bank cameras along there now). Or my favourite is The Spencer Arms at Church Brampton.

Saying that though, if it serves a decent pint of JS Smooth I'll be happy any where http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

I know the Navigation well...dont know the Church Brampton place but sure it would not be beyond the wit of man to find it
Either would be good...only ever on the Diet Cokes anyway when driving http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
When would be good for everyone?

Mandi 09 October 2001 09:08 PM

Sounds good to me

The car park at the Spencer Arms it not very big if you are planning a weekend meet. It is very popular due to the good food they serve there.

Mandi

Neanderthal 09 October 2001 09:46 PM

The Navigation gets quite full to as I remember? http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif Spencer Arms does indeed get absolutely packed at the weekend, especially in the evenings, but it's car park does have CCTV.

There's also the Greyhound in Melton?

Come one someone else suggest a pub, it' beginning to look like I'm the only one who drinks (and mostly eats) here http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

How's about a Saturday or Sunday afternoon? I'm busy this weekend and the next Sunday is the SIDC AGM at Whilton Mill (anyone going?).

Will keep an eye out for you all. Got another wave tonight, light blue MY96-97. Bloke had a goatee beard.

Matt
P.S. Does any one of the Northamptonshire Massive know how to fit a back box? I'm getting a P1 BB soon, and I'm about as mechanically minded as a house brick http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Andy Mid. 09 October 2001 10:06 PM

The only Impreza meet I've ever been to was in Northampton a couple of years ago and that was at the Britannia pub (which is on the Bedford Road as you drive out of Northampton). All I remember about it is that it's got a big car park - lol

I agree - the Spencer Arms does do great food but probably too chocka for us

I'm going to be "offline" for a few days but count me in for any meet you decide upon http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

davyboy 09 October 2001 11:51 PM

How about, Billing mill, the Brittania (bedford road) Navigation is nice I must admit. Any others.........?

Seamus 10 October 2001 07:54 AM

I'm rural just outside Northampton towards Tiffield, Brittania is about 10 mins for me so no complaints there. What about the Greyhound in Milton Malsor? Good food and carpark! And also JS Smooth I believe...

Mandi 10 October 2001 08:58 AM

I don`t mind any of the pubs mentioned, the brit has got a large car park. Don`t mind Sat or Sun afternoon. NOt this weekend though.
Maybe we could make it the weekend after the AGM at Whilton.

Saw a Black scooby with Gold wheels on my way to work this morning, i waved but surprise surprise no wave back.

Mandi

Neanderthal 10 October 2001 09:24 AM

I believe that the Greyhound, Spencer Arms & the Britannia are all run by the same brewery so any of these would do decent food http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif

My vote gets the Greyhound http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Hows about Sat 27th October? or the Sunday?

Matt

Seamus 10 October 2001 09:38 AM

Greyhound is good with me, however we're away for the weekend (26th-28th), getting PPP fitted on the 3rd November so how does Sunday the 4th sound?

Neanderthal 10 October 2001 09:48 AM

Sunday the 4th November is fine by me, I'll have my P1 alloys and back box by then http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/biggrin.gif

Matt

ademid 10 October 2001 10:08 AM

I too have never been spotted. I quite often see other scooby drivers and wave, often get waved at back but nothing has ever been posted. I'm from Towcester and have recently waved at a P1 (heading into to Towcester on A5) and a green wagon with gold alloys (last night) both waved back but nothing posted.
