Stiff 12 July 2004 09:54 PM

Silver one- to be fair, not that bad really. A few marks and scratches (ally bonnet though and decat BIG exhaust) naff steering wheel, but the mileage put me off. Just under 100k. L-reg, reckon £4.5k would`ve bought it.
White one- brief look (over his dads fence on the way to his) looks nice, goes for SVA tomorrow etc, etc. Should be ready to view/drive on Friday/Saturday.

new boy 12 July 2004 09:56 PM

stiff mate..second hand ally bonnets only cost around 150 mark when they come up!..so dont be too impressed..you going to the meet on thusrday?

Ads - not sure about Thursday yet - squash tonight, golf tomorrow from 4-9:30 pm, so maybe another night out leaving Ferne at home with the child would not be the best way to get brownie points ;)

P20SPD 13 July 2004 02:55 PM

also found the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler a bit lose so all sorted now getting 18psi boost
eh? i tightened that up fully. Hows it come loose?

pum 13 July 2004 03:16 PM

don't know steven , dont worry about it not your fault the exhaust down pipe is still fine ;)

just noticed it as i was putting the boost gauge pipe in to the engine bay ,

got about 5 full turn's on the jubilie clip:D

as your on are 1foot flame's ment to come out my exhaust????

me think's it running rich! which would explane the excess fuel in the exhaust system;)

P20SPD 13 July 2004 03:34 PM

your now on full decat, and vent to atmosphere dump valve, yes? in that case, es it will **** flames out like no tomorrow.

Its fuel on the grounds air is their when you lift off, but it isnt, so the excess fuel goes out the exhaust.

although they shouldnt be quite the same as mine at SSO 2003, when i had the missfire!

pum 13 July 2004 03:40 PM

thank's for that m8!;)

it sounds like a shot gun when it goe's, but only when the exhaust is realy hot;)

P20SPD 13 July 2004 03:48 PM

yup, when my new engine went in, mine was doing that at idle!! due to one knackered spark plug :D

Scooby New 13 July 2004 05:13 PM

Ah Mr D (font of all technical knowledge ;))

I have a quick question too! If I remove my oil pressure switch and replace it with a sender unit to link up to my oil pressure gauge, what do I do about the warning light on the dash??? So far I've had it on continually, off continually, or half-lit continually! And what should the oil pressure be???

TIA!
Steve

Stiff 13 July 2004 05:43 PM

Big J`s coming to look at the white WRX with me tonight(top geezer!). Passed SVA but failed mot today on emissions so he wants to sell me as is `cause he`s just moved house and up to his eyeballs with the decorating (been there, it`s true) so may get a bargain, we`ll see. (Glad Big J`s going with me!) :)
