Just about to fit the bumper and I'm plumbing back in the indicators and PIAA's, but have a wire I can't find a home for.
I thought it came from around the back of the headlight but no socket to where it is suppposed to fit can be found !!

What's the socket on the end of it? Spade connector? Bullet connector? Insulated? Uninsulated?

It doesn't ring any bells with me from fitting lamps on my MY00 - could it be something aftermarket?

Can u trace it back to where it comes out of a loom? That might give a clue :D

It's on the end of the PIAA loom (that's the PIAA socket I'm holding onto also)

oh and it's a <runs out to have a butchers> it's a bullet socket

Looks as if it's the feed to a driving light.
Try a circuit tester on it, and select main beam with lights on.

the feed to the PIAA's is the big white plug.

I'm after the little white one, that runs down the same loom. :confused:
Thought it might be the "trigger" wire for the PIAA relay but as I've said above no sign of anywhere around the back of the headlight to plug it into.

That'll teach me to take so long on the dam project :o

So it comes out of the PIAA wiring loom? That narrows it down.

I'd guess that it *might* be the trigger wire, as said above. But it looks like it isn't insulated, which'd hint that it had to be an earth? (or the insulation could be clear, in which case it could be trigger)

Did u fit the PIAAs?

There should be a corresponding feed to plug into it. If it's for the trigger, you should find a wire at the back of the headlights that's been tapped into. You should be able to pull that and bob's yer uncle.

DId your PIAAs just come on when your main beam was on? Were they switched through the fogs or anything like that?

It is the trigger wire for the PIAA relay,it connect's to one of two black wires from your fog light switch the other is connected to your o/s h/light and also goes to the switch.

Note the deliberate mistake ! :o :o
