Found out that last event was 1974.

Used to hill climb at Great Auclum in the mid late sixties.

Spoke to an old guy that had lived in Burghfield Common over eighty years and he thought it had stopped in about 1969 I said early seventies.

Used to get to the hill Friday afyternoon and could practise untill it got dark, arrive next day early, two practise runs in morning an if space one or two extra runs.

John Catlin 1974 was the last one I remember it well as a local  IIRC it was 1973 when someone died there in an accident :( have a look here And Here

Great Auclum
This hillclimb, which varied in length (mostly over 400 yds - it was 600 yds in 1948), was used between 1938 and 1974. The two pre-WW2 meetings were organised by the Sporting Owner Drivers Club (1938) and the Frazer Nash-BMW Car Club (1939). All post war meetings were organised by the Hampshire and Berkshire Motor Club.

1964 - Arthur Owen
This was the original prototype, built for the 1964 season with a 2-litre Climax and exhibited at Earls Court Motor Show that year. Originally supplied to Bill Knight, it was used by former British hill climb champion Arthur Owen between May and August 1964. The BT8 had its first UK outing at Great Auclum (AS 14 Aug 1964 p254), comfortably winning the 2-litre sports car class and taking eighth place in the RAC Run-off. Earlier appearances include Mont Ventoux in June 1964 where Owen was eliminated by engine trouble.

And someone I know very well lives there in a house that has nothing to do with the Great Auclum new estate that was built after 1975 but lives in one of the orignal houses that was in the grounds of the big house.
