A friend of my who doesnt come on the board posed this question to me and I couldnt answer can anyone else???

He is getting the PPP pack for his sti7 and wonders if after this is fitted it is worthwhile getting the ecu done via ECUTEK would there be any gains??

or would the extra for the ecutek be wasted money comments would be appreciated please

i would like to note he is warranty concious hence the question the ecutek could be done without harming his warranty (much)

thanx

the ppp is an ecutek isn't it?

hawkeye 12 September 2003 02:03 PM

i dunno thats why im asking I thought the ecutek was bespoke to the car and the ppp was a do all ecu for all climates grades of fuel etc hence the question.

However knowing a little of Mr banks reputation regarding (mildly) modding scoobs i think ill go with his reply and pass that on for the mo

The original STi PPP did not use Ecutek, I am not sure if the present PPP for Bugeyes uses it or not, the new STi PPP does. Whatever, he has warrantied 300 BHP and 299 lbft IIRC. Without further modifications to the car, power gains will be slight and will increase gauge requirements and reduce fuel choice and completely void the warranty.

once again thanks

Itīs absolutely no problem to achieve better performance over the remap PPP! (done that, been there.....)
