Just had an engine rebuild on my STi 4 & currently running in for first thou.

After that intend using Optimax + Millers. Should that be sufficent or would a Knocklink fitted provide failsafe protection for detting etc.

My sanity will take a turn for the worse if I get any more engine troubles.

Millers is not the best booster to be using. NF makes your bits go orange, but it works.

Fit the KnockLink. For your piece of mind, and the long-term health of the engine, just over £100's a small price to pay.

You can always accidentally end up with bad fuel in your tank. The KnockLink will alert you to this and other unhealthy conditions before your engine goes critical. Much better that than be driving round in total ignorance while your poor motor starts arguing with itself over which part is going to break first...

Unfortunately I'm totally ignorant with cars.
Wouldn't know where or how to fit the thing. Need a bit of nurse maiding.

Hmmm, self-confessed totally ignorant with cars, yet you bought an STi4. This could be viewed by some as a recipe for disaster somewhere along the line!

Fitting the KnockLink and sensor is easy, in fact the only difficult thing is deciding where in the cockpit you want to locate it. There are plenty of "how to" posts around here, so just hit the Search button and blast away. Pretty sure they come with instructions anyway. More info here. :)

I bought the scoob to drive not to work on. Having to rely on advice & scoob outlets for everything will prove more expensive than operating myself but that's too bad.

This does seem a good community full of helpful enthusiasts so hopefully I can learn more about the car. And I do appreciate people's comments.
