I think the pipe from the manifold to the turbo is blowing it sounds like it is blowing from the gasket . To remove the link pipe to turbo is it removed from under the car or from above and does the downpipe have to be removed to gain access as this is being changed v.shortly.

Also where is the cheapest place to get downpipe gaskets

thanks

Mark

This pipe is normally referred to as the 'up-pipe' and depending on the age/spec of your car it may be a good idea to change it anyway as the OEM one is quite restrictive and has been known to start leaking at higher boost.

As for the gaskets, stick with the OEM ones, they are not expensive, part no's are:

Manifold to up-pipe: 44022AA170
Up-pipe to turbo: 44022AA150
Turbo to downpipe: 44022AA180

Removal can be a b*tch, I have only done it when changing the turbo and in this case it is possible to pull the pipe out upwards, to get it out without removing the turbo you have to loosen the offside engine mount and lift the engine slightly to create enough room the slide out the uppipe.

Look here for a detailed description of changing the uppipe on a new age WRX, classics aren't much different.
