Hope someone can help me out here.

I'm trying to send a fax via my PC using the Fax sending Wizard.OS is WinXP, and connecting via broadband.
Everytime the wizard tries to dial the fax number, I get an error
'No dial tone, or the phone is in use or not connected'

I assume this a problem at my end as I've checked and the fax is available to receive incoming calls.

Any ideas regarding set up issues?
I've just realised that the wizard keeps redialling the number.How do I stop it?

The Fax Wizard needs to send via a normal Fax/Modem and cant send via a broadband connection.

Does that mean that even though the PC has a modem installed, it won't work unless connected to a phone line?

Yep. Needs modem connected to work.
