anyone know of a good supplier of alphanumeric lcd displays in the uk?

size - well, 16x1 / 16x2 characters etc. maplin/rs are like 10 quid a pop+ for these little fellas!!

...and is that too expensive? You'll be struggling to find cheaper unless you're buying in serious bulk

it's just that on good old USA sites they mention you can usually pick up surplus ones for around a dollar!

checked ebay but no bargains there :(

and i can't even find a good range here - for example, looking for a 2-5 digit 1 line display, but 16x1 seems to be the smallest here. you can spend serious money on really fancy ones though

Try farnells too, but they won't be cheap :(

I haven't found any surplus/pull stock, but it must be there somewhere!
