Hobo_Jojo 04 September 2003 04:10 PM

IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR REASON U HAVE PARTITIONED THE DRIVE SO MUCH?

/SHOUTING

:D

Nimbus 04 September 2003 04:11 PM

Well it shouldn't have :p The F: is onlt created when you build a new HDD.

Nimbus 04 September 2003 04:13 PM

And how have you got an A: drive?!! Do you have a floppy in your X-Box? ;)

Nimbus 04 September 2003 04:14 PM

Hobo_Jojo 04 September 2003 04:16 PM

ooh but why does he think h has a floppy drive?

Mr.Cookie 04 September 2003 04:19 PM

do'oh my bad no A drive ;) mate of mine set it up after he chipped it all i've done is edited the xbmp config to let it see the drives that were there and my pc's ;) so are you saving it should only have c d and e, and e can be 3 gig ish which is the wasted part of drive that microsoft didn't want you to use

Nimbus 04 September 2003 04:26 PM

Yep. Unless the HDD has been reformatted, it should not have an F:

Mr.Cookie 04 September 2003 04:31 PM

yup think it needs to be formatted to gain the extra hard drive space that's there but not set up

Hobo_Jojo 04 September 2003 04:33 PM

is it safe to format the dive if u back up the files on there then put them back on once formatted?

class_A 04 September 2003 04:40 PM

Yes

Check out Xbox-Scene and have a gander at the tutorials.

On boXplorer, press your white button to bring up the menu and choose Select Drive... You will now be able to browse your other partitions.

Mr.Cookie 04 September 2003 04:41 PM

cheers class A

Si (wanders off to try it) :D

Mr.Cookie 04 September 2003 04:43 PM

Thanks a lot Class A :D:D:D anyone up for soul caliber 2 :D

Nimbus 04 September 2003 05:12 PM

I can't comment if it's safe or not. Personnally I wouldn't try it as I'm ultra cautios

Hobo_Jojo 04 September 2003 05:17 PM

ah i wont risk it then! i think i should have enuff room for media player and a few emulators and roms?

class_A 04 September 2003 05:22 PM

I swopped HD's. You need to make sure you get a drive that can be "locked" I chose a Seagate Barracuda 120Gb.

Basic procedure:
1. Install EvoX
2. FTP to Xbox, copy C and E partitions to PC
3. Burn C and E to disc as a back up
4. Replace hard disc in Xbox with your freshly opened new one
5. Boot Xbox using EvoX disc
6. FTP to Xbox
7. Issue some commands using an FTP client that can send them (FlashFXP), really easy
8. FTP contents of C and E back to Xbox
9. Reboot

This gets you an larger hard disc, but you won't be able to boot the MS Dash or use Live. To do this, you need to lock your new disc. Get an app called ConfigMagic and run it. You will now be able to boot to MS Dash and use Live. Just don't do either with your modchip switched on!!
