Hi
I've got media player running on e,f and g and network, but can't get box explorer to see f drive (correction don't know how :D) currently standard hard drive although bigger one going in soon (sunday ;)) Si |
The standard HDD does not have an F:
|
mine does :D and a, c, d, e, x, y and z :D it's chipped i forgot to say :)
|
IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR REASON U HAVE PARTITIONED THE DRIVE SO MUCH?
/SHOUTING :D |
Well it shouldn't have :p The F: is onlt created when you build a new HDD.
|
And how have you got an A: drive?!! Do you have a floppy in your X-Box? ;)
|
Hobo,
Standard X-Box has.. C: Root D: DVD drive E: Game Saves X: Y: Z: temp files |
ees avin a laaarf me old son!!
/cockney |
ooh but why does he think h has a floppy drive?
|
do'oh my bad no A drive ;) mate of mine set it up after he chipped it all i've done is edited the xbmp config to let it see the drives that were there and my pc's ;) so are you saving it should only have c d and e, and e can be 3 gig ish which is the wasted part of drive that microsoft didn't want you to use
Si |
Yep. Unless the HDD has been reformatted, it should not have an F:
|
yup think it needs to be formatted to gain the extra hard drive space that's there but not set up
|
is it safe to format the dive if u back up the files on there then put them back on once formatted?
|
Yes
Check out Xbox-Scene and have a gander at the tutorials. On boXplorer, press your white button to bring up the menu and choose Select Drive... You will now be able to browse your other partitions. |
cheers class A
Si (wanders off to try it) :D |
Thanks a lot Class A :D:D:D anyone up for soul caliber 2 :D
|
I can't comment if it's safe or not. Personnally I wouldn't try it as I'm ultra cautios
|
ah i wont risk it then! i think i should have enuff room for media player and a few emulators and roms?
|
I swopped HD's. You need to make sure you get a drive that can be "locked" I chose a Seagate Barracuda 120Gb.
Basic procedure: 1. Install EvoX 2. FTP to Xbox, copy C and E partitions to PC 3. Burn C and E to disc as a back up 4. Replace hard disc in Xbox with your freshly opened new one 5. Boot Xbox using EvoX disc 6. FTP to Xbox 7. Issue some commands using an FTP client that can send them (FlashFXP), really easy 8. FTP contents of C and E back to Xbox 9. Reboot This gets you an larger hard disc, but you won't be able to boot the MS Dash or use Live. To do this, you need to lock your new disc. Get an app called ConfigMagic and run it. You will now be able to boot to MS Dash and use Live. Just don't do either with your modchip switched on!! |
one day! one day u'l see! i'l eventually get my head round all this malarky!
