Little MissWRX-[Rich is one for doing that, I dislike being a passenger (I am a bad passenger anyway) because I feel like vomiting every time he drives. I get really travel sick.
Me? I just keep that right pedal to the floor.]

My Inforcer is the same.My stomach churns and head goes dizzy when he thraps scoob! And when I drive, his heart thumps in his mouth!
He slips the clutch for fun's sake and revs like f**k so annoyingly!
And me? I just "keep that right padel to the floor"!
So,we both are as good and as bad as each other! http://www.stopstart.freeserve.co.uk/smilie/sex.gif
At least, he sticks up for women!

Anyone else think the accelerator pedal in womens cars should be replaced by an On-Off switch- seen numerous examples of Corsas etc blasting off then slowing down... Oh and if you need any proof my sister is looking for the conversion as I write....

PS to the many good women drivers, please ignore??

dead_neurons 04 September 2003 10:48 AM

<FlameProofCoatON>
there's aren't any are there? :D
</FlameProofCoatON>

in fact, i remember reading in last months top gear mag, that a survey of children done by the AA (i think) showed that over 60% of children felt unsafe in the car with their mothers driving.

remember folks, out of the mouths of babes......

ARM-Scooby 04 September 2003 10:58 AM

i have to agree. My aunt is a classic at it, right up the car in fronts arse, then brake, back off and go again.

On off switch and a couple of air bags on the front bumper me thinks

RichWalk 04 September 2003 11:02 AM

Glad to see I am not alone on this one!! Heres a thought, if the 60% of kids who dont feel safe- banned their mothers from driving, we might be able to drive to bleedin work in the morning...

ARM-Scooby 04 September 2003 11:03 AM

lmao how true!!!

NotoriousREV 04 September 2003 11:11 AM

MrsREV can't "cruise" she's constantly on and off the gas, it drives me mental. 30 mph consists of accelerating to 35, decellerating down to 25 then repeat ad infinitum.

I've tried to improve her driving, but she's beyond hope. She's not unsafe, just annoying ;)

pugoetru 04 September 2003 11:21 AM

get her a cruise control :D

RichWalk 04 September 2003 11:29 AM

a set of old tyres all round the car a la cruise boats should do the trick??

Suresh 04 September 2003 12:24 PM

Never has this problem with the good lady's driving.
If anything I,m the one that does it and I even have my own recipe :Find German autobahn. Cruise at 120+. Hit patch of traffic, slam on anchors and then power away to 120+ again. Continue until tank runs low. Fill up. Repeat. :D

I have a mate that we call 'Dog' He was recently re-nicknamed 'digital dog' on account of his driving. He seems unable to grasp that a car is essentially an analogue device and that the brakes, accelerator and steering are not all or nothing  :D

RichWalk 04 September 2003 12:41 PM

Nice one! Seems we have removed any chance of this thread now being construed as sexist??

TurboKitty 04 September 2003 01:05 PM

No, but my clutch should probably be replaced with an On/Off switch... ;)

sambo sei 04 September 2003 01:17 PM

seriously the amount of bad women drivers that were cutting us up and honking at us for not sitting right on the car in front's back bumper in a slow moving jam last nite was a joke, we get told men are the worst for that. even a woman with a Zafira full of kids was trying to drive thru us!

Disclaimer - note that i say bad women drivers as i know u ain't all bad, just a certain few that like to stereotype the lot of u ;)

AJbaseBloke 05 September 2003 12:05 PM

I am lucky then, I have a significant other that has a clue.

In fact she is quite a good driver, although sometimes she has a habit of leaving her braking a touch late (don't we all?). She's been on a couple of advanced driving courses and shown up quite a few blokes, too (thankfully not me, yet ;) ).

bluto22b 05 September 2003 08:04 PM

Women drivers (especially those under 30) have no perception of stopping distances. Its because their brain cannot understand basic physics and especially the mechanics of the motor vehicle. They assume that because they can stop a shopping trolley within 3 inches they can do the same with a car. I get women "tailgating" me all the time. It is my ONE pet hate. If I stop the distance they leave between me and them is less than thinking distance, never mind the distance required for the car to shed speed and stop. Women need more training with stopping distances. Perhaps shopping trolley wheels should be smeared in vaseline, perhaps they may get the idea then

chrisp 05 September 2003 08:21 PM

To me the most scarey thing is that a lot of women drive with their nose touching the top of steering wheel. These days most steering wheels have airbags and sitting 2 inches away from is not a good idea :(.

Foot_Tapper 05 September 2003 08:23 PM

While were on the subject... it happened again today.
And again a woman; why do they have to go straight across at roundabouts ...literally. cut me up a corker.
I just looked...It wasnt worth hand signals/beeping horn/flashing lights......they just dont know they do it....
Completely oblivious

missyc 05 September 2003 08:40 PM

Inforcer 05 September 2003 09:25 PM

ps:redkop stand up and be counted!

skiddus_markus 05 September 2003 10:29 PM

Whilst in slow moving traffic,I prefer to stick it in 1st/2nd and let the car pull on tickover than constantly stop/start.A young lady behind me decided that this wasn't to her liking and tried to overtake me and make up one whole place in a very big queue.
Booted it and left her in the middle of the road.Took her a while to realise I wan't there anymore and move back onto the right side of the road.
I also find women are particularly bad at cutting blind corners at junctions, nearly causing a collision when you're approachuing a junction.

Inforcer 05 September 2003 11:10 PM

how many of you have crashed on your own accord! or crashed into a nother bloke i suppose let me guess none zip womans fault even if that was what was what u were looking at the time.............

SkodaMan 05 September 2003 11:41 PM

I find the worst female driving habits to be:

1) Not holding the steering wheel. My sister is guilty of this (as well as the on/off accelerator). Um, you're supposed to use the steering wheel to steer, not let the car veer wildly across the road and arrest it at the last moment.

2) Not paying attention. You don't need to look at your mate whilst talking! I'm sure she'll understand that you have important things to look out for, such as my rear bumper. And the rear view mirror is not for doing your hair and make-up in, either.

However, my major pet hate seems to be perpetrated (surprisingly) almost exclusively by men. Using a mobile phone whilst driving is proven to be as dangerous as drunken driving, yet every day I see 'em, and all of them are driving incredibly dangerously. White van man, and Mr. Laguna/Vectra seem to be the worst for this, although BMW drivers are in the running too.
