As for the non tick over flat battery symptom, it could be you battery failing under load, you should be able to get that tested at an auto electrician, if it is not the battery then it will most likely be a bad earth.

For the tick over no spark - You will need to replace the crank angle sensor, that is exactly the symptom no spark, do you notice it is worse once the car is warm, not hot? With this issue the problem will get worse and worse until the car will not start at all.

Hi all,,

i keep getting an intermittant non start... the ecu reports no codes.. but im niot to sure if ive connected the correct wires or sequence B/B G/G etc..

took out the cam and crank sensors and cleaned em then all was ok foe a bit then today it was back again...

not sure if its the immobiliser either?? the car turns over but no spark from coils!!

Swmbo thinks it may be the ice headunit as this is playing up now .. and i am also getting some total electrical failures

absolulty no power at all like a flat battery no lights on dash etc... but when it starts it runs ok 14v at the battery

and there are no obvious loose earths any ideas ???????

You say youv,e no power to coil packs when this happens. You tried looking at Amplifier which supplies power to coil packs. Just a thought mate .

Hmm with regards to the bad earth, i will get the battery load capacity checked...

with regards to the non start.... its very intermittant... but we have noticed that on hot days it tends to happen,,, and after the engine is hot to...

any idea of a crank sensors cost... and a ignition amplifier too
