I have just followed up my previous emails and spoken to the MD at Blackspot and unfortunately they can't offer us a groupbuy.

The MD gave me a fairly lengtly explaination but in simple terms its mainly down to the way their dealer network is run, and the fact that the dealers can't offer subscription discounts, and the fact that the subscription is as cheap as they can make it anyway.

Despite this the dealers are able to help us out in the hardware group buys as some of us have already taken advantage of (obviously this is down to the individual dealers).

He also explained that the £99 lifetime subscription is an absolute bargain for what you get and they made it as cheap as possible as a sort of thank you to us for buying the product in the first place.

He genuinely wanted to help us and was quite disappointed that he couldn't, but he found the time to say a big thanks to all of us for buying their products.

Even though we didn't get the groupbuy it was still nice of the guys at Blackspot to take the time to listen to us, they could have ignored us or just said NO but they took the time to discuss it, so a thumbs up anyway.

cheers
Dan

Scoobynetters:
I have emailed and spoken to the subscription hotline at www.blackspot.com and they advised me to forward my email to the MD who is currently unavailable.

It's quite possible that a subscription group buy is out of the question but I'd like to include a link to this thread in the email so the MD can judge the level of interest himself.
I suggested breakpoints of 10+ (£89) or 20+ (£79), so if you are interested please reply.

Please note this thread is just to measure interest, there is no group buy as yet and if there is the prices above were just my suggestions.

cheers
Dan

I'd be interested, however I've just bought mine and I also have a free second year subscription.

I'm trying to tag onto a group buy on NSR to get a RA, if that is successful then I could be game for this one too.

This may be a "dum" question, but car you transfer this from car to car without any problems?

cw42 04 September 2003 05:28 AM

buck, the road angel is not car specific, you can put it on your push bike if you wanted too!
Its not like the "aa".

Just bought mine but if the deal could be set up as ongoing I'd be up for it

cw42 08 September 2003 05:56 PM

Hard luck on that one dan, but thanks for trying anyway. I think I will be going for the £99 lifetime when my first year has run out, as like the MD says, it is a bargain, and a cracking bit of kit too.
It has probably saved my license enough to justify its cost already, and I've only had it 6 months!
Thats not to say I drive fast, just that speed cameras are not located in accident "blackspots" all the time.
