I picking up a K&N induction kit on sat for my 93 wrx import. Now the question is have i made the right choice? Will i notice a difference in performance ? and will it sound good!?!?
I also having sum blitz plugs put in.
The car came with some jap cat back system so will i be getting much gains from the above?
any help or advice appreciated!

The K&N is one of the safest.

Use the search function for loads of info.

Do you have a KnockLink and AFR meter fitted?

The KL is pretty much a must for Jap market cars, even when not modified.

However, some induction kits can cause MAF sensor misreads, causing dangerous leaning of the mixture. Thus, the KL and AFR should be considered essential, as they could provide you with important insurance against an expensive blow-up.

oh pooh! no i find that out!! wots a knock link an that other thing? how much an where do i get them??

The KnockLink will tell you if your engine is suffering from pre-detonation, which is a condition that can kill your engine very quickly if it's bad enough and you don't lift off when it happens (and you won't lift off if you don't know it's happening!).

An Air-Fuel ratio meter will tell you if your engine is running rich, or more importantly, too lean. Lean running will increase cylinder temperatures and make detonation more likely.

As for how much and where from, look here for the KnockLink and the LambdaLink AFR meter. However, if I was buying an off the shelf AFR meter, I'd get the Dawes one, here.

i didn't notice anything good in way of performance
sounds great (a bit like darth vader) - apparently louder from outside...
remove the resonator from the front wing for better airflow (but potential dirt problems)
also made my dump valve sound louder
no MAF problems

Tim, I'm not too "up" on the earlier cars, but I think you'll be able to run a Scoobyecu in yours. Try shooting David Wallis or Scott T an email, or have a look here.
