Seen as tho the temp gauge in dash is for the water?

Yes, it actually tells you when the car's properly warmed up. The coolant shows the car to be warm way before the oil is actually warmed through. I find myself being very much more sympathetic to the car whilst it's warming up, since I installed the oil temp gauge.

How much would a no frills 1 cost? aint bothered about fancy dials!!! Where do u mount yours?

Fatman 27 August 2003 07:31 PM

I mounted three Defi gauges in a centre dash pod, in place of the storage binnacle.

Scooby Mania sell some fairly inexpensive gauges here.

If we all had an oil temperature gauge then there might be fewer; "whys my engine gone bang then?" type of posts here.
