need to get under the front of my sti2 to fix a rattly heat shield, and was thinking of buying a set of ramps. i did hear, though, that these are no good for my scoob, as the front bumper/spoiler hits it first. anyone used them on a similar car?
the suspension is standard, so it's not that low.... failing that, anyone know where i can get a better set? any help appreciated, dodge |
Trolley jack and axle stands should do it!

we tried these stand when doing an oil change on our V2 nightmare!!!!!!! just use a jack and weld up the sheild... you have less chance of dammaging your scoob..

Or lay a couple of planks of wood directly in front of the ramps - raises the front of the car enough so bumper clears the ramps.

As Dave says, just use thick wood to reduce the angle of the ramps. I have the Halfords ramps and did exactly this.

thanks folks! think i'll try the wood approach. don't want to pi55 around under there wgen its only supported by a halfords jack!!
cheers again....... dodge |
you shouldn't pi$$ around under any car using any jack on it's own.
Ramps and axle stands are the way to go unless you've got a death wish ;) I bought my ramps, trolley jack and axle stands all from Halfords - they've served me well so far :) Stefan |
thanks again guys, used a couple of planks of wood in front of the ramps and cleared the bumper no problem.
heatshield now fixed and the rattle is gone... ...think i'll take er for a spin now... cheers again, dodge |
