Hello Pete,

Live just east of York. Best way of climbing aboard is to attend one of the regular 'meets'. Generally involve a spin out on some decent roads aswell. The main ones I go for are the current series of 'Northern Meets', which if you do a search you'll see details on the most recent ones. I also tag along with a top crowd from Hull when they have their little get togethers, Mossman above is one of the Hull tribe along with Phil.M so if you see them post you'll know they're 'local lads'. GregH is from Leeds and John McElroy lives near (too near) me.

Keep a close eye on the BBS and before you know it you'll soon be involved!!!

Oops, almost forgot track days, they're worth an occasional visit especially the SIDC ones.

Otis.

Sunday busy with family + MTBs :^(

Why don't we go for something early July then we can get the SIDC to mail out info to those not on-line and make it a memorable day.

petew 10 May 2000 08:14 PM

wots wrong with June? A good blast in the dales and maybe the sun will shine in june too!! na not much hope off that.

gregh 10 May 2000 08:19 PM

SIDC say they need at least 21 days notice to post info out to members, so I reckon June would be ok, anyone up for planning a route?

Good idea i thinks it will be a good time to see "How many people can you fit in a P1"

Seriously i will take a look at some roads over the weekend and put forward my suggestions.

Andy H 10 May 2000 09:34 PM

I'm in Leeds and up for a jaunt. Not made any of Gary's meets yet, but after the wedding I'll have more time on my hands. (Back Mid June - Wedding week Saturday - ulp.)

PS If you use the A1 - M1 link road, beware an unmarked Dark Green Peugeot 406 saloon. I use the road every day, and he is a busy man, all lit up on the hard shoulder with some poor git in the back. I believe he patrols the M62 too.

DBDOM 10 May 2000 10:49 PM

Got ya, i use that road a fair bit ill keep my eye out. If anyone is in the area of wakefield and wants a good chat over some good roads for the "Yorkshire Meet" over a beer and a game of pool then let me know.

RobAnderson 10 May 2000 11:16 PM

Pete, I'm from Harrogate area also.
My scoob has been out of action for nearly a year now during lengthy (and ever more expensive) engine conversion but is now finally near completion and back on the road any day now.

I'll look out for you. Mine is easy to spot as it's Light Metallic green 95' 4dr with a huge 'mouth'(enlarged front intake to make room for the front-mounted intercooler)
Will try and make the next meet.

gregh 11 May 2000 11:23 AM

Rum,
